Happenings UPDATE

Journal Entry: Wed Mar 5, 2008, 7:34 AM
Please support :icontwbc: "TheWritersBreakfastClub is a friendly place to come and share your writings with people. It is also good for helping with writers block, and other things(as said in our Journal). You can also come here to just talk if you like, so if you decide to visit us... Welcome!" ~ Sullenexile, Co-owner of TWBC

Hello All;

Sorry for the seeming hiatus, but I have been busy getting wise to how I need to go about preparing for the major launch of the Centriiost Project.

First of all, if you can help me here [link] by submitting a Registry Entry, that would be great. The On Demand listings are a major aspect concerning the success of the Centriiost Project, and they could prove invaluable to you in future if you plan or have need to make a good portion of your yearly income from commissions.

Secondly, those with skills concerning comics - or who are willing to develop them - will please be aware that I am launching a comics production service called Collaborn Visions. Even if you have no experience in comics, the potentially required support staff will be made up of artists with basic-but-high-quality rendition skills to handle character development and concepts aspects. All "staff" will be freelance and contracts will only be involved for larger productions which will potentially take several months to wrap up. More details forthcoming soon. Keep an eye out in dA's Projects and Job Offers forums.

Developments on DrunkDuck.com are promising. Two serious persons are trying to get a collaborative production crew together for a test project which is slated for commercial sale if the nature of the project is appealing enough. I consider this project a great test to see if persons can be attracted to such an endeavor, which is not entirely unlike what I have in mind for the Centriiost Project.

My manager has convinced me - without any trouble - to introduce the Centriiost Universe with an introductory novel, which might in turn be made into a graphic novel. I am not so keen on the latter phase, but the written novel - tentatively titled In Shame's Keep - will have no less than 200 pages + at least thirty illustrations. It is a backhistory story - set during the Minao Strikes period - told in multiple styles and presented in an unusual format, revolving primarily around one character while presenting various characters which will and will not appear in other series of the Centriiost Project.

That isn't everything, but all which might interest you to know. I am seeing about launching two serious fan fiction projects as well, but they are a casual affair for me and I have not spent much time on them recently.

Good health and pleasent days to you all,
~ Skyler

Followed that link. I guess what I need is "venture capitol", but my needs are very unique. I really need to deal directly with a company that works in the webcomics field and have some manpower and capitol to invest. They don't grow on trees...

Found zudacomics.com in a Google search. I am working with two artists on some stuff I won't mind selling the soul of, so I guess getting a little exposure via a contest is the way to go. You can scream all you want, but if you haven't shown what you can do on their terms, you'll be invisiable...

Thank you!

I really can't be bothered with business management stuff. I just want to write and work with a commercial development crew, even if I have to go public in a forums community for the initial phase. They have to sit up and notice if I can get a good sized crew together and we can compile a good bit of series art and scripts. Not to mention I can't wait to throw the SSPFF presentation style at them...

[link] I found this site useful though it's oriented to British Columbia business. May still have some useful info for you though. They have a service where you fill out a business plan send it to them and they'll give you advice. Try google searching Small business "whereever you are" and perhaps you'll find a similiar site.
I went to Value Village and bought a Marketing for $4 then took a highlighter to it while reading it. It takes a long time to read though.
Maybe trying reading through a marketing textbook, check at your library.

Hi!
I am doing all right. A little frustrated with my ineptitude to get things together for the Centriost Universe Project, but I'm dealing with it. I just need to find partners and co-creators to help me organize and manage is all...

The CUP is going slow but sure. I'm sort of focusing on a test production right now, getting the character and scene refs worked out with a sketch artist or two. [link]

Well, as to supporting artists, I have to be very careful right now and for a while. Progress of the CUP depends almost entirely on volunteer artists right now and I really need a financeer to back the CUP concepts development. Things would go great if I had a solid directing/management team together and a few commerical backers, but I'm so unsure where to seek such help and worried about getting taken for a ride...

I hope development and production of the CUP can eventually support dozens of contracted and freelance artists, writers and composers, but I need to get things together and catch a few breaks first. What I really need is to find a company or private team which can mentor me through this whole mess...

Do you have any suggestions? I should probably just advertise, but I prefer to keep my mind on developing elements and aspects of the CUP and not bother with recruiting. I really don't have the desire or bent to be the owner/financeer, managing director and leading writer and conceptionist for the entire CUP. Perhaps I should just break down and advertise for an equal partnership with a bunch of serious writers...I'm not on the 'net enough or efficiant enough to get the CUP rolling or keep it rolling. I am the weakest link in the CUP chain so far and will be for years...

Hello.
How are you doing? Is your project going well?
I like to say thank you for your effort to help support so many different artists, I think it's wonderful. I hope you and all your artists are doing well.

Ok I'll upload a larger image later today. =) Plus if you like I could e-mail it to you. =)
*SkylerVane:iconSkylerVane: Oct 27, 2007, 9:46:26 AM
I do not mind anything "extra" an artist wants to throw in for free or cheaply, especially if they have an interest in the extra materials they offer. But for the full cost of such extras I prefer to spend my money on new things and move along.

Just so long as you are aware of the basics I require for the prices I am offering, I am okay with any extras you are interested in providing me...

Honestly, while I understand you would like to color Xioneer, I just do not see the need. I prefer that you move onto another character at this time. So the upload of the larger image would be great.

Sorry to disappoint...

Well from that notes I offered the extra facial expressions and you said ok. So I did it. If you don't want this colored we can leave this as is and I upload a larger image.
*SkylerVane:iconSkylerVane: Oct 27, 2007, 8:24:06 AM
Okay. So you have started the CPS, then. It is $35 for the two new poses colored.

I don't particularly want/need the new - or any of the - facials colored, unless you think it will be a good idea. The facial(s) - only one or two - should be enlarged to show detailing if you choose to do them. I will only offer $7 per colored facial, as I do not really think they are neccessary.

Instead of the colored facial enlargements, I prefer you toss in the old rearview nude standing pose and color that. $12 offered for it, as it is an old pose.

So $35 for the two new poses alone; + $7-14 for the facials or $12 for the old rearview nude. Or $55 for the two new poses, the old rearview nude and one enlarged facial. Whatever is easiest/most lucrative for you.

If you want the honest truth, I do not see the need to color any characters at this point and prefer to have all "my" artists concentrate on SCA, commissioned CDSSs and their own AOCCSs.

Yes that's what I meant. I hope you like this, because I'm taking the two new pose and three facial expressions and painting them. I'll show you the flat colors today so there won't be any mistakes or confusion.

Odd. This didn't show up on my messages list...

You mean the extended Xioneer spread? I caught that in my Deviantions Watchlist. I am watching your main and scrap galleries and your journals too, I think.

You require feedback then?
