Happenings UPDATE

Welcome!" ~ Sullenexile, Co-owner of TWBC

Hello All;

Sorry for the seeming hiatus, but I have been busy getting wise to how I need to go about preparing for the major launch of the Centriiost Project.

First of all, if you can help me here [link] by submitting a Registry Entry, that would be great. The On Demand listings are a major aspect concerning the success of the Centriiost Project, and they could prove invaluable to you in future if you plan or have need to make a good portion of your yearly income from commissions.

Secondly, those with skills concerning comics - or who are willing to develop them - will please be aware that I am launching a comics production service called Collaborn Visions. Even if you have no experience in comics, the potentially required support staff will be made up of artists with basic-but-high-quality rendition skills to handle character development and concepts aspects. All "staff" will be freelance and contracts will only be involved for larger productions which will potentially take several months to wrap up. More details forthcoming soon. Keep an eye out in dA's Projects and Job Offers forums.

Developments on DrunkDuck.com are promising. Two serious persons are trying to get a collaborative production crew together for a test project which is slated for commercial sale if the nature of the project is appealing enough. I consider this project a great test to see if persons can be attracted to such an endeavor, which is not entirely unlike what I have in mind for the Centriiost Project.

My manager has convinced me - without any trouble - to introduce the Centriiost Universe with an introductory novel, which might in turn be made into a graphic novel. I am not so keen on the latter phase, but the written novel - tentatively titled In Shame's Keep - will have no less than 200 pages + at least thirty illustrations. It is a backhistory story - set during the Minao Strikes period - told in multiple styles and presented in an unusual format, revolving primarily around one character while presenting various characters which will and will not appear in other series of the Centriiost Project.

That isn't everything, but all which might interest you to know. I am seeing about launching two serious fan fiction projects as well, but they are a casual affair for me and I have not spent much time on them recently.

Good health and pleasent days to you all,
~ Skyler

Hey skylervane.

New update on my progress with XNA. I've been studying the different examples, learnt myself quite a few new concepts of c#, like derived classes and stuff like that, and I devised a rather neat test engine if I say so myself. I based it on the examples but improved it to be VERY customizable so to work for all kinds of games and whatnot. Basically you got a number of screen variables and unit variables that each have their own unique code, so you could basically make like a whole bunch of minigames in one game. Anyway, made a small test demo last night too. [link] . It utilizes audio, fonts and basic rendering of textures.

Personally I've greatly enjoyed coding in C#. The class system is just a very neat and way of doing things, and at this rate there won't be much to learn in aoop in school next week.

Thrilled to hear you like!

That link bombs out for me. I downloaded to Open or nearly finished downloading and it now just fails to Open. I don't have a player that handles .RAR files anyway...

Can you save it in another format?

Here's to the future...in Flash Development...

And give Nonoba.com a try! Growing, evolving, fun!
:icondonitz:
The game itself uses regular exe files. Use winrar or 7zip to unpack the rar archive.

My Transfer Rate decays. I guess I'll have to try different times of the day, because waiting 2hrs is a little much...

I got the winRAR 40 day trial.

The server is located at my computer so it shouldn't matter too much at what time at the date you're downloading it. Anyway I uploaded the archive to axifile instead. [link]

Oh, and I forgot to mention. You need to download and install XNA framework to be able to run games developed using XNA. [link]

Slight hickup in getting XNA to work. I finally managed to install XNA studio after first downloading and installing C# express 2005 plus sp1, but apparently the only way to debug the games you create is to connect a 360 to your computer to be able to run them. As I currently do not own a 360 and I'm not planning on getting one this close to start of school I don't have any way of proceeding. Anyway I'm still checking into development into the flash projects.

You mean you don't trust yourself to get a shiny new game system just before school? Or finance issues?

:icondonitz:
Pretty much both. I could barely afford one but I still need to find out what material to buy for this school year.

You mean text books and whatnot?

Anyway, I'll buy you one. We'll just have to work out a small contract we both feel comfortable with... Want me to Note you on this?
